What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored in your web browser by the websites you visit. They are used for a range of purposes — from keeping you logged in, to remembering your preferences, to measuring how many people visited a page. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended) requires us to obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies, with an exception for cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the site.
ChelseaReel uses localStorage and sessionStorage (Web Storage API) for preference storage rather than HTTP cookies. These behave similarly to cookies from a consent perspective and are treated identically under PECR guidance.
Strictly Necessary Storage
The following storage entries are strictly necessary for the site to function. They are set without consent and cannot be disabled from our cookie panel (though you can always clear them via your browser settings).

Affiliate Attribution Storage (Optional — Consent Required)
If you consent to affiliate/marketing cookies, attribution tracking is enabled. This measures which outbound links result in account registrations at bookmakers, allowing us to measure editorial performance. No personal data about you is shared with operators — the tracking identifies only that a click occurred via this site, not who you are.

Third-Party Cookies Set by Linked Sites
When you click a "Visit" link to a bookmaker's website, that bookmaker's site will set its own cookies according to its own cookie policy. ChelseaReel has no control over third-party cookies. All outbound links to bookmakers are marked rel="sponsored" and open in a new tab. Cookies set by the bookmaker's site are governed entirely by that bookmaker's own cookie and privacy notices.
Google Fonts loads typefaces from Google's CDN. Your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com which may log your IP address as a standard CDN request. No cookie is set by Google Fonts, and Google has confirmed that this request is not used for advertising profiling. See Google's Fonts FAQ for detail.
How to Manage Your Preferences
You can change your cookie and analytics preferences at any time using the button at the bottom of every page. Changes take effect immediately. Withdrawing consent does not delete cookies already set — to fully remove them, use your browser's cookie clearing function in addition to changing your preferences here.
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies. Links to instructions for major browsers:
